Alojamiento El Mirador is a family-run hotel in the city of Tarapoto of Peru's northern rainforest region. The hotel boasts a strategic location just a brief walk from the city center and enjoys magnificent panoramic views thanks to its being situated in the area of highest elevation in the city. From the rooftop terrace you can swing in a hammock as you gaze on Cerro Escalera (Staircase Mountain) in the distance, the lush forests skirting Tarapoto and even some fascinating tropical bird species such as the Black-bellied Tanager. If you find yourself with a bit of free time you could walk the trail leading from the hotel to the Shilcayo River, passing the Achual Sector before encountering the spurs of Cerro Escalera. The guest rooms are clean and very comfortable and the staff provide friendly personalized service. All in all, it's a great base for exploring the natural wonders of the surrounding area. Complimentary transfers to and from the airport are provided.

The hotel is located four blocks from Tarapoto's Plaza de Armas atop a hill overlooking the city and the surrounding jungle. The neighborhood is peaceful, safe and free of traffic. Thanks to the hotel's centric location, access to restaurants, banks and other sites of interest is fast and easy.

Each morning the hotel serves its guests breakfast on the rooftop terrace which affords spectacular panoramic views. Breakfast items include coffee, milk, fruit juices, fruit salad, fresh bread, butter, cheese, eggs prepared any style, jam and olives. There are many restaurants nearby which offer Amazonian cuisine.
How To Get There
To get to the hotel from Tarapoto's Plaza de Armas head northwest along San Pablo de la Cruz St. for five blocks. From here, the hotel will be visible at the top of a hill.
