Kapievi Eco Village
Just 5 minutes by car from the hustle and bustle of Puerto Maldonado, the Kapievi Eco Village offers a tranquil respite where guests can relax in ecologically-friendly accommodations complemented by a variety of activities and services.
Family-owned and managed, the eco village offers rustic thatched-roof cabin accommodations with private bathrooms, mosquito nets, hot water, and one or two double beds. Touches of luxury like crisp white bedding and plush cotton towels add an additional sense of being in a special location.
Travelers from all around the world come to Kapievi for short and long stays to enjoy the jungle around the lodging and the permaculture learning experience, as well as the hospitality of Pierna Vinelli and her family. Guests can enjoy yoga classes, Ayahuasca ceremonies, rainforest walks, lessons in local medicine, and a variety of other activities all organized by the staff.
The eco-lodge is managed in close consultation with the local indigenous community to stay true to their customs and way of life, and is managed in an eco-friendly style. In addition to activities in the local region, staff can assist with tours to other parts of the Amazon in Peru and Ecuador, and even as far as Brazil.
Kapievi is 20 minutes from the Puerto Maldonado Airport by car or taxi. Guests will also find the center of Puerto Maldonado with its conveniences and street vendors a 5-minute drive away by car. There are many activities to take advantage of in the region, from rainforest walks to canoeing trips and fishing excursions, as well as the yoga classes and other opportunities at the eco-lodge. The Tambopata National Reserve is a short ride or a longer but interesting walk away and makes an enjoyable place for rainforest exploration and challenging hikes.
Food & Beverage
Meals at the accommodations are highly recommended. Breakfast is complimentary and consists of fresh fruits, juice, coffee, tea, and eggs. Lunch and dinner boast varied menus with local and international specialties, and vegetarians are especially well catered for.
Special requests can be easily accommodated in the family kitchen of the property. The center of Puerto Maldonado offers a few cafés, a market, and convenience stores to purchase basic items.
How To Get There
Take the Tambopata Road from Puerto Maldonado towards the reserve, and the eco-lodge will be 5 minutes outside town on the right-hand side.
