Hotel Description
A comfortable kid-friendly jungle lodge accessible only by canoe, the Hacienda Concepción offers adventure lovers an exciting rainforest immersion experience. Sitting on the shores of a private lake in the midst of 2,024 acres of wild jungle, it consists of a main lodge with eight guest rooms and seven independent cabins. Traditional Amazonian architecture, hand-woven thatched roofs and locally-crafted furnishings create an authentic atmosphere while modern amenities such as hypoallergenic bedding, cotton bathrobes and ceiling fans provide for guests' well-being. The lodge offers ten complimentary bilingual guided excursions, including both land and river outings, many of which are suitable for children. Additional fee-based services include binocular rentals, private guides and laundry service.
Area
The hotel is located five miles from Puerto Maldonado on 2,024 acres of wild jungle which serve as a buffer zone between the Tambopata National Park and the Madre de Dios River. It can be reached in 20 minutes by canoe from Puerto Maldonado and is adjacent to a private lake rich in diverse wildlife. Lake Sandoval is within walking distance.
Food & Beverage
Upon arrival guests are greeted with complimentary cocona and starfruit juice. Three nutritious buffet meals prepared with local and organic ingredients are served daily. A vegetarian option is available. Breakfast is served from 5:30 to 9 am, lunch from 12:30 to 3 pm and dinner from 7:30 to 9 pm. The bar is open from 12:30 pm to midnight and hosts a happy hour featuring complimentary pisco sours.
How To Get There
Transfers from the Puerto Maldonado airport to the hotel and back are included in the price of lodging. The scenic canoe ride takes 20 minutes.
