Named for the migrating whales that can be viewed from its terrace, the hotel is one of Máncora's best-established and most popular. Here, surfers will have Máncora's best surf point right on their doorstep and both adults and kids can enjoy a splash in the pool. Owner Harry, son of Roger Schuler, the man attributed with developing the original Pollo a la Brasa recipe (now a Peruvian national favorite), puts his heart into serving his guests like one of the family. He has ten spacious rooms on offer, including doubles, twins, triples, a suite and a master suite. Each one is appointed with a private bathroom, ocean view terrace, cable TV and hammock. The doubles and suite also come with mini-bars and fans, while the master suite features two private bathrooms with one shower, a fully-equipped kitchen, Jacuzzi and air conditioning.

Punta Ballenas Inn is located at the 1164 km mark of the Pan-American Highway at the southern end of the small fishing village of Máncora. It's right on the beach and lies within three minutes' walking distance of central Máncora.

Food & Beverage

The Punta Ballenas Restaurant boasts some of the best breakfasts, lunches and dinners in town. Harry is an amazing cook and, using his father's original recipe, prepares a Pollo a la Brasa to die for. Just be sure to request meals in advance because the restaurant doesn't function on an ongoing basis.

There's also the small Ballenita Pub which offers a pleasing variety of both classic drinks and unique creations developed by Harry. There's always a satisfying choice of beers and tasty snacks to much on.

How To Get There

To get to the hotel from the Cabo Blanco Bridge in southern Máncora follow the dirt road towards the sea. It will lead you directly to the hotel's parking lot.
