Conveniently close to central Tarapoto but far enough away to be a refuge of peace and quiet, the Hotel Río Shilcayo is a paradise of tropical gardens and modern comforts. Its 37 guest rooms include 15 private bungalows, each one appointed with a mini-bar, cable TV, telephone, private bathroom, terrace and air conditioning.
The grounds include 12.5 acres of gardens and natural areas through which guests can take relaxing strolls and there is a beautiful pool for taking refreshing dips on hot days. Sports enthusiasts can play soccer and volleyball on the grass courts and there are games for both kids and adults to enjoy. The hotel also boasts a sauna and six fully-equipped conference rooms for business, social and other events of up to 400 people. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel and a computer is provided for guest use.
Area
The hotel is ideally located on the outskirts of the city of Tarapoto, far from the noise of the city center but close enough to be within five minutes of the Plaza de Armas and ten minutes from the airport. It's surrounded by trees and tranquility in the Banda de Shilcayo district.

The hotel's restaurant offers traditional jungle cuisine, which features freshwater fish and shrimp, smoked pork, beef, yucca, plantain and heart of palm. Peruvian and international dishes are also on the menu and room service is available.
How To Get There
To get to the hotel from Tarapoto's Plaza de Armas, head southeast towards the Banda de Shilcayo neighborhood. The hotel is located in this neighborhood on the second block of Las Flores St.
