Historical
What a beautiful hotel. Lots of nooks and crannies, even a zoo. Our room was comfortable and located on a patio, which I would guess most rooms are. Restaurant on site has good food and beverages. Staff was very helpful with suggestions on activities in the area. English was available if your Spanish needs work.

great retreat
Although this hotel is in the middle of Ica, it was like a little tranquil oasis. The room and bathroom were lovely and clean, and my son enjoyed the little zoo behind the hotel. The food in the restaurant. The only complaint would be that we didn't stay for long enough!! Well done!!

Great place to stay!
Our stay at El Carmelo Hotel and Hacienda was great! The reason for our trip was actually to visit Huachachina, but decided to stay in Ica instead of one of the hostels in Huacachina. The location is a little bit from the center of town, which is actually an advantage. It is a very inexpensive taxi ride to get anywhere. The staff at the hotel coudn't have been nicer or more helpful. The room was clean and nice. The restaurant was great, too. Breakfast was included, and it was great - consisted of delicious coffee, fresh squeezed juice, and eggs of your choice. We had lunch there one day and it was delicious. The hotel itself is charming - there is a "zoo" in the back, and they also make wine there. We will definitely stay there again if we go back to Ica.

A beautiful sanctuary in a hectic city
We came to Hotel Carmelo for 2 nights as part of our honeymoon. Ica is a very busy and loud city with taxi´s constantly beeping. Hotel Carmelo is on the busy road out of the city but once inside the ground you instantly forget it´s location. The grounds are full of beautiful and interesting delights, with antiques, wildlife, brightly coloured flowers and plants and the area once used to make pisco. The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff are very friendly and accomodating. The hotel is a fantastic retreat that also serves as a great base to visit the surrounding areas of interest such as the bodegas, huacachina and paracas national reserve. Pay a little extra for a larger room off of the beautiful pool it´s well worth it!
