The Way Inn Lodge is a collection of bungalows and campsites tucked high among the breathtaking snowcapped mountains that cradle the city of Huaraz. Founded by former international travelers with visions of sustainability, the lodge gets its water from glacial melt and has its own herb garden and trout pond. It's a wonderful starting point for treks, climbs, mountain biking tours and horseback riding expeditions and there's plenty to do on site for those who need a day or two to take it easy. There's a lawn for playing croquet or volleyball, a sauna, hammocks, board games and even a playground for the little ones. Laundry and day care services are available.
Whether you're the type of traveler who likes to rough it in the great outdoors or prefers to indulge in the finer creature comforts there's something for you at the Way Inn Lodge. Tents and camping equipment can be rented for camping on the lawn terraces alongside a mountain stream and there is an assortment of different bungalows ranging from bunk bed-style accommodations with shared bathrooms to private cozy bungalows with fireplaces and feather duvets.

The lodge has its own restaurant and bar in the central bungalow, the natural rock walls of which give it a medieval feel. Here there is a lounge room, dining area and mezzanine with access to two outdoor terraces that afford stunning views. The kitchen prepares home-style meals breakfast through dinner, including packed lunches to go, desserts and snacks.

To get to the lodge from Huaraz, follow the road towards Pitec for about nine miles.
