There's no place like home, but the Steel Guest House sure comes close. Each beautifully appointed guest room and common area exudes a homey warmth that immediately puts you at ease. The rooms are cozy and cheerful although fairly basic, equipped with cable TVs and private bathrooms. There are many comfortable lounge areas with couches, including the rooftop terrace with spectacular city and mountain views, the TV lounge with its DVD collection, and the library where you can read and participate in the book exchange. Guests can challenge each other to pool, darts and other games in the game room or take a catnap in the hammock. Those with culinary expertise (or who just want to save a buck) are welcome to prepare their own meals in the shared kitchen and then savor their creations in the pleasant dining room. There is a sauna, as well, and Wi-Fi broadband Internet access for guests with personal laptops. Additional amenities include private parking, laundry service and luggage storage.

The Steel Guest House is located just outside of downtown Huaraz, a short walk from the Plaza de Armas where banks, restaurants and shops can be found.

How To Get There
To get to the hotel from Huaraz's Plaza de Armas, head south along Mariscal Luzuriaga St. and take your first left onto 28 de Julio St. Continue for about nine blocks until the road comes to a T with Atusparia St. Take a right onto Atusparia and then an immediate right onto Alejandro Maguiña St. The hotel will be half a block away on your right.
