Hotel Description
Caroline Lodging is a family-run hostel within walking distance of central Huaraz and makes for a great starting point for exploring the mountains. Cheap and well-suited to large groups, it has over 30 comfortable beds in all, distributed throughout the main building and the annex next door. The main building contains nine dorms, four doubles and one twin room, as well as all of the common facilities, whereas the annex offers more privacy and tranquility.
Common areas include a rooftop terrace with views of the mountains, a spacious lounge for reading or watching TV, a kitchen, a mini-cinema with comfy couches and an extensive DVD collection, and computers with headsets, webcams, Skype and speedy Internet access. Guests can also use the hotel's book exchange and BBQ facilities.
The friendly and helpful staff provide laundry service, tourist and trekking information, luggage storage, safety deposit and free bus station transfers. Guests can rent trekking equipment, mountain bikes and books, and buy topographic maps, gas cans, second-hand guidebooks and other essentials at the hostel.

The hostel is located on the banks of the Santa River in the city of Huaraz, six minutes by foot from the Plaza de Armas.
Food & Beverage
A delicious complimentary breakfast is served each morning on the hostel's rooftop terrace. Guests are welcome to prepare their own meals in the hostel's kitchen.
How To Get There
To get to the hostel from Huaraz's Plaza de Armas, head south for one block along Luzuriaga Ave. and take a right onto 28 de Julio Ave. When 28 de Julio comes to a T with Confraternidad Internacional Oeste Ave., continue down the flight of steps and follow Huascar St. towards the river. Take your first right off of Huascar and you'll arrive at the hostel in less than a block.
