Yine Lodge
Hotel Description
The Yine Lodge is an eco-lodge nestled in the lush rainforests of Manú National Park consisting of bungalows built with traditional materials and techniques. Built on ancestral land belonging to the Yine indigenous tribe, it lies a short distance from the Yine community of Diamante. The lodge was founded as a means of providing the Yine with a sustainable source of income in order to reduce their reliance on harmful activities for survival such as hunting and selling logging rights.
The hexagonal wooden bungalows have thatched palm roofs, beautiful cedar interiors and plenty of windows overlooking the forest and gardens. Each bungalow is a private retreat, featuring comfortable beds with mosquito nets, fine cedar furniture and a small screened porch for sitting and enjoying the view. In the main building there is a lounge decorated with traditional Yine designs where guests can relax and socialize.
Area
The lodge is located within the boundaries of the Manú National Park near the confluence of the Alto Madre de Dios and Manú rivers. It's a five-hour walk from the Yine indigenous community of Diamante and is surrounded largely by virgin rainforest.
Food & Beverage
The room rates include three meals a day, served in the Yine Restaurant which specializes in international cuisine and traditional Yine dishes.
How To Get There
To get to the lodge from the city of Cuzco, board a flight to the Boca Manú landing strip adjacent to the lodge. Alternatively, you can take a bus to the town of Puerto Atalaya and continue by boat down the Alto Madre de Dios River to the lodge.
