Hotel Description
A refurbished colonial mansion built atop terraces constructed by the Incas, the San Blas Backpacker Hostel sits in the popular San Blas neighborhood overlooking central Cuzco. Excellent views, six lovely patios and great amenities make it a pleasant place to relax and meet fellow travelers. All of the 85 homey guest rooms feature private bathrooms, free Wi-Fi and cable TV and some have balconies overlooking the city. Aside from lounging in the sunny patios, guests can enjoy reading books from the library or playing darts and ping pong in the games rooms. There are also BBQ and kitchen facilities available to guests, in addition to services such as tours, safety deposit, laundry, medical attention and oxygen for combating altitude sickness.
Area
The hostel is located in Cuzco's picturesque San Blas neighborhood overlooking the city center. It lies 2.5 blocks (a three-minute walk) from the San Blas Church and 4.5 blocks (a ten-minute walk) from Cuzco's Plaza de Armas. Via taxi the airport can be reached in 15 minutes and the bus terminal in ten.
Food & Beverage
A buffet breakfast is served each morning from 6 to 10 am. The on-site café offers local and international fare and guests can enjoy drinks from the bar in the garden. Communal kitchen and BBQ facilities are available as well as room service.
How To Get There
To get to the hostel from Cuzco's Plaza de Armas, head northeast along Triunfo St. (later Cuesta San Blas) for four blocks and take a left onto Tandapata St. Continue for about half a block and you'll arrive at the hostel on your right.
