Hotel Description
The colonial mansion built in 1584 that now houses the Pirwa Backpackers Colonial hostel is full of character and charm that will transport you back to the time of the conquistadors. Here you can relax by day on the sunny wooden porches, admiring the stone lion sculpture, and party by night at the hotel's hip bar and café with the peace of mind that your safety and well-being is the owners' top priority. No matter what you need, they're always ready to help you out.
The guest rooms include dormitories of 4, 6, 8, 10 or 12 beds each and doubles with or without private bathrooms. Small lockers are provided for the storage of valuables and large lockers are provided in the rooms for backpack storage. There are several common areas where you can chill out or socialize and if you're looking for something to do the hotel has a pool table, a cable TV with English, French, German and Spanish channels and a DVD player plus a large selection of DVDs to choose from. Guests are welcome to prepare their own meals in the well-equipped shared kitchen or browse the Internet via the hotel's Wi-Fi or the three computers provided. There's even a BBQ area and mini-supermarket on site. The staff can help you organize tours and coordinate airport transfers as well as rent out bicycles and store your luggage while you're out trekking.
Area
The hostel is located very close to the center of Cuzco. Travel agencies, ATMs, bars, restaurants, pubs, shops and historic sites are all nearby.
Food & Beverage
A complimentary continental breakfast is served each morning and includes fresh bread, butter, jam, juice, fresh fruit and yogurt. Plus, there's a bar and café that opens at 6pm and offers a huge variety of beer and liquors as well as homemade pizzas and sandwiches. Play a game of darts, hang out with fellow travelers and don't miss happy hour!
How To Get There
To get to the hostel from Cuzco's Plaza de Armas head west along the pedestrian street opposite the Cathedral. Continue for three short blocks until you reach the Plaza San Francisco. You'll see the hotel right across the plaza from where you're standing.
