Hotel Description

The Hotel Casa Cartagena Luxury Properties & Spa leaves absolutely nothing to be desired. Its sumptuous suites satisfy the expectations of the most demanding of travelers, enveloping its guests in the warmth of colonial charm while lavishing them with modern indulgences. The building itself was the home of Spanish encomendero Don Fernando Cartagena y Santa Cruz, restored to its former colonial magnificence and infused with chic modern design elements.

Standard in-room amenities include a Tatami-style shower, oxygen-enriched air, a bath with mineral salts, Wi-Fi and a mini bar. Select suites also have balconies with views over San Blas, original tilework, hydromassage tubs for up to four people, bidets, and the royal suite is a palatial bi-level apartment with an original stone arch terrace, massage room and dry sauna.

Hotel staff are extremely friendly and professional and guests may call on the services of a butler at any time. There is a deluxe on-site spa with separate floors for men and women as well as a business center which provides laptops for use in the comfort of your room.

Area

Two blocks from Cuzco's Plaza de Armas, the Hotel Casa Cartagena Luxury Properties & Spa enjoys a privileged location in one of the city's most elegant neighborhoods. Historic attractions, fine restaurants, clubs and traditional handicraft shops are all nearby. Sacsayhuamán is a fifteen-minute walk from the hotel.

Food & Beverage

The La Chola Restaurant offers a tantalizing menu of modern Peruvian and international cuisine complemented by a rich selection of wines. In the mid-1900s it was famous as a meeting place for artists, poets, writers, politicians and intellectuals, and Pablo Neruda is said to have composed much of his poem "The Heights of Machu Picchu" during his visit. There are also two lobby bars with fireplaces and a casual terrace bar with great views of the white statue of Christ that stands watch over the city. Room service is available around the clock.

How To Get There

From Cuzco's Plaza de Armas head down Cuesta del Almirante Street (to the left of the Cathedral). When you come to the Plazoleta de las Nazarenas take a left onto Pumacurco Street and the hotel will be on your right.
