Casa Cartagena Boutique Hotel & Spa
The resplendent Casa Cartagena Boutique Hotel & Spa offers guests sumptuous modern accommodations within the framework of a historic 17th-century mansion built atop Inca ruins. Originally the home of colonial commissioner Don Fernando de Cartagena y Santa Cruz, the hotel and restaurant have hosted such famous people as Che Guevara and Pablo Neruda.
Its 16 deluxe suites open onto two courtyards and feature private bathrooms with separate shower and bathtub areas, free Wi-Fi, climate control and oxygen enrichment systems with bedside vents and masks. Guests have the benefit of unlimited bath amenities including mineral salts, bubble bath, flowers, candles, oils, loofas and aromatherapy.
The heart of the hotel is its decadent 1,150-square-foot Qoya Spa, to which guests enjoy unlimited access. The ground floor features a 26-foot hydro massage pool and healing stone trail overlooking the picturesque neighborhood of San Blas, while the second floor is exclusively for men and the third is devoted to women. There are oxygen-enriched massage rooms, steam saunas and other relaxation facilities.
Guests also have access to a business center appointed with personal computers, a printer and notebook computers available for use in the privacy of each guest room. Through the hotel's personalized butler service guests can request to have their bath drawn, shoes shined, baggage unpacked, excursions coordinated and much more. Umbrellas and ponchos are at guests' disposition in addition to laundry service, parking, cash advance service and tour guides.
The hotel is located in a quiet and picturesque area of the historic center of the city of Cuzco, 55 yards from the Plaza Las Nazarenas and one-tenth of a mile from the Plaza de Armas. The artisan neighborhood of San Blas can be reached on foot in five minutes and the ruins of Sacsayhuamán in 15. The airport is a 15-minute drive from the hotel and nearby attractions include the Precolumbian Art Museum and the Inka Museum.

A free pisco sour-making class is offered on a daily basis from 6 to 7 pm (by reservation only) and room service is available around the clock.
The hotel's legendary La Bodega de la Chola restaurant serves innovative Peruvian and international cuisine in a warm and intimate atmosphere. The stone walls of its wine cellar were built by the Incas and in the mid-1900s it was a picantería known all across Cuzco as a meeting place for prominent artists, poets, writers, politicians and intellectuals. Che Guevara and Pablo Neruda count among its most famous visitors. Lunch is served from 12:30 to 4:30 pm and dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 pm.
There are two bars on site: the lobby bar and the terrace bar. The former features a wood-burning fireplace and book collection while the latter offers views of the Cristo Blanco statue from its open-air and covered areas within the main courtyard.
