Hotel Description

A breathless climb up scores of rocky steps is a small price to pay for the spectacular views you'll get from Casa de Campo. A homey place built of adobe, wood and stone, the Casa invites its guests to relax in the comfort of its 49 guest rooms, each with its own private bathroom and panoramic vistas of the city's tiled rooftops and the surrounding mountains.

There is a lounge and dining area with a deck and fireplace from which even lovelier views can be appreciated, and the terraces and gardens are pleasant common areas for resting in the warm sun. The multilingual staff provide tourist information and can book excursions and travel tickets.

Within walking distance of Cuzco's main plaza but set apart from the busy tourist areas, Casa de Campo is a good choice for those traveling solo or in groups and offers a full range of amenities, including Internet, washing machines, safety deposit, luggage storage, fax and 24-hour reception.

Area

San Blas, the charming artisans' district of cobblestone streets and whitewashed houses, is home to Casa de Campo. Cuzco's main plaza is a ten- to fifteen-minute walk from the hotel and there are shops and cafés in the vicinity.

Food & Beverage

Casa de Campo has its own hearth-lit restaurant and bar with impressive views both day and night. A continental buffet breakfast is served each morning, consisting of fruit, bread, cheese, jam, cereal, coffee and tea.

How To Get There

To get to the hotel from Cuzco's Plaza de Armas take Triunfo Street (to the right of the Cathedral), which later becomes Hatunrumiyoc Street. Follow the road for four blocks and take a left onto Tandapata Street. The hotel will be one block away on your left.

Beautiful Casa de Campo
I scheduled my stay at Casa de Campo after seeing some pictures on the internet. But the pictures did not equal the beauty of the hotel and its surroundings. The dining area had the most magnificent view of Cusco and the surrounding hills. One nite i listened to Andean music float up the hillside from the Plaza de Armas. Everyone at the hotel was exceedingly courteous and helpful. Internet was available for free. The beds were comfortable enough as were the rooms. But nothing, nothing compares to the wonderful setting of the hotel. And the price was very reasonable also.
