Heaven on Earth
The people at the Hostal and the place itself were incredibly beautiful and friendly. The service and accommodations couldn't have been better.

An Excellent Choice
A pretty smaller B&B on a Cusco hillside in the artistic section of San Blas with beautiful views. Originally an hacienda, the building gleams with vast wooden detail that added charm. The inner courtyard was filled with flowers and hummingbirds. Staff were friendly, personable and went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms were clean and comfortable and breakfasts were tasty and filling. A short walk downhill to Plaza des Armas in the city center. It's either an invigorating walk uphill or a cheap (under $2) cab back. It is listed as a backpacker hostel but it certainly felt more upscale than that. Would highly recommend this to people who prefer B&B's to big hotels. A good deal.

Cuzco treasure
We stayed 1 night on our way to Macchu and 1 on our way back so had 2 different rooms. Both were great- the staff is very helpful, location fabulous. Hot water was out one day so couldn't have that much wanted shower but that is Peru sometimes.

Great location, very clean and a fun helpful staff. Highly recommend

Fantastic place at a reasonable cost
We stayed at Amaru Hostal for a total of 5 nights before, between, and after various treks we took around Cuzco. The rooms were lovely, clean, and the view was gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious, and one morning when we had to leave very early (maybe around 6am?) they kindly packed up a breakfast to go. Our fellow travellers staying at other hotels were extremely jealous. This is a phenomenal mid-range hotel.

Amaru Hostal Stay
We enjoyed our stay at Amaru. The reception was very kind as well as courteous. We asked them to call to confirm our tours which they did without hesitation, which was a huge help. Also, the landscaping was bright, colorful and well-maintained which made sitting outside a very pleasant experience. The place was very clean. The complimentary breakfast was nice as well. The place is located in the middle of a hill, near the San Blas district and centrally located which was nice for exploration. Overall, I would recommend this hostal.

Great haven in Cusco
We found the Amaru charming and inviting after our trek on the Inca Trail. The bathroom was small but the tiled shower was inviting and the water hot. Great breakfast in the morning. Wish we had more time to stay.

Family Trip

Can't wait to go back
Excellent hotel, very friendly and helpful staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Bathroom was kept immaculate. Free, hot coca tea available in the courtyard at all times to help with any effects of the altitude. Strange taste, lots of sugar helps, but by the third cup, I was able to reduce the sugar content significantly and now enjoy it.
Good location just two blocks off the main square of the city. And Cusco is centrally located to many beautiful places. The people are very friendly. And it is the jumping off place to get to Machu Pichu.

Amaru was nice
We arrived at Amaru, who nicely met us at the airport after a short notice email I sent the day before. The interior garden as well as the views of the city were lovely, we only wished we could have stayed there longer.
