Hotel Description
The Sacha Mama Ecolodge offers its guests the unique opportunity of experiencing the way life is lived day by day in the Peruvian Amazon. Built in harmony with nature in cooperation with a native community, the lodge consists of bungalows made of local materials harvested from the rainforest. Its huacapú support beams, thatched palm roofs and pona floors are just like what you'd find in any rural Amazonian home.
Its sixteen rooms can accommodate up to thirty guests in all and are appointed with all of the necessary amenities for a comfortable stay, including one private bathroom per bungalow, large windows for adequate ventilation and mosquito nets for protection at night. In your room as you prepare to drift off to sleep you will be serenaded by thousands of nocturnal insects, a truly unforgettable experience.
The lodge's staff is made up of members of a local native community who have expert knowledge of and experience in the rainforest. They are glad to offer guests guided rainforest outings, canoe trips through the region's rivers, fishing and visits to other local communities.
Area
The lodge is located in the community of San Juan on the banks of Lake Yarinacocha, just a short distance from the city of Pucallpa.

The lodge offers cuisine based on native ingredients including numerous species of local fish, bananas, cassava, rice and beans.
How To Get There
To get to the lodge from central Pucallpa take the road to Yarinacocha, which will bring you to the community of San Juan.
