A charming old mansion transformed into a quiet bed and breakfast by a Dutch-Peruvian couple, the Posada offers comfortable accommodations for an excellent value. The 20 rooms include singles, doubles, triples, suites and a honeymoon suite that features a whirlpool tub and separate shower. Each room is appointed with cable TV, Wi-Fi and a private bathroom, and some enjoy access to a balcony with stunning views of the El Misti volcano.
There is a swimming pool set among the hotel's beautiful gardens and in the breakfast room the pre-Inca ceramics discovered on site are displayed. The friendly multilingual owners go out of their way to ensure their guests' every need is met and provide a range of services including book exchange, pick-up service, luggage storage, currency exchange, laundry service and tour bookings.
Area
The Posada El Castillo is located in a safe residential neighborhood far enough from the center of Arequipa to enjoy some peace and quiet. The main square can be reached on foot in 15 minutes or much quicker via taxi.
Food & Beverage
A generous breakfast is served in the breakfast room each morning and consists of their signature strawberry juice, breads, meat, cheese, eggs, coca leaf tea and coffee.
How To Get There
To get to the hotel from downtown Arequipa head south along La Merced Ave. and go straight through the five-way intersection. Continue down Parra Ave. for two blocks until you come to the Primax gas station on your left and take a right onto Campos Street. The hotel will be less than a block away on your left.
