Hotel Description
Crossing the threshold of the Hostal Casona Solar is like traveling back in time to the 18th century. Built in 1702 with Arequipa's famous white "sillar" stone around two sunny inner courtyards, the hotel is a peaceful refuge from the hustle and bustle of downtown. The clean and comfortable rooms have high arched roofs, grand doors that open onto the courtyards and modern bathrooms. There is a garden, which is a delightful little escape for reading or socializing, and there's no better place to spend a chilly evening than in front of the old fireplace.
The hotel is owned by a friendly Dutch-Peruvian couple who make their guests feel very much at home and ensure all their needs are provided for. Available services include airport and bus station transfers, laundry service, luggage storage, book exchange, currency exchange, flight booking and confirmation, and the arrangement of tours. They have a clearly marked stand in the airport for receiving guests upon arrival and taking them directly to the hotel. Guests may also use the hotel's telephone, fax machine and Wi-Fi.

Hostal Casona Solar is situated just a few minutes away from Arequipa's Plaza de Armas and within walking distance of the city's major attractions and colonial buildings. Close by are some excellent bakeries.
Food & Beverage
The hotel has a bar and dining area where breakfast is served each morning. Breakfast consists of freshly brewed coffee or tea, fresh juice, seasonal fruits, toast, ham, cheese and jelly. A small menu is offered in the evenings.

The hotel lies on Consuelo Street, which is two blocks south of, and parallel to, Bolognesi/Moran Street (which forms the southern edge of the Plaza de Armas).
