Hotel Los Alpes
The Hotel Los Alpes is aptly named for its views of the mountains surrounding Quito, and its cultural blend of the Alps mountain range in Italy and the Andes in Ecuador. Claudio Facchinei and his family present the best of both worlds in their family-run hotel renovated from a colonial residence on the edge of the city's historic center in the safe district of La Mariscal.
Away from the busy city, the hotel feels more like a home and comprises 24 large rooms including some detached cabin-like accommodations. Each room is uniquely decorated and furnished for a cozy atmosphere. Rooms may include handcrafted furniture, balconies or city views. All rooms feature cable programming including English-language channels and free wireless hotel-wide broadband for those who have their own computer.
Known for their warm customer service for over 20 years, the Facchinei family provides a wide range of amenities: a computer suite with Internet access for fees similar to local Internet cafes, a bar and lounge with cable television and a fireplace lit daily, free and secure storage for valuable items in reception, free luggage storage for guests who will temporarily leave the city, a restaurant and a sun balcony for relaxing with a view.
