Mangoes, avocados, and bananas grow on this property's flourishing fruit trees, creating a peaceful scene looking out towards the Tu'u Tapu hills. Located inland, Pukao is centrally located to many popular attractions. The hostel guides a variety of tours throughout the island. Along well-maintained foot-paths and hiking trails, passing beaches and archeological sites.
Guests can rent bicycles for rides through the beautiful Rapa Nui National Park. Tours on horseback and by vehicle are also available. The island's main attractions are the ancient moai statues. Fifteen of these large stone faces are appear in a military line along a raised stone platform at Ahu Tongariki.
More moai figures in various states of construction can be found on the slopes of the Rano Raraku volcano. The giant crater is now filled with water, creating a lake nearly a mile in diameter. The Ahu Tahai and Anakena beaches are great places to lay out on the sands or go for a swim. Each offers unique views of the sun rising and setting over the sea.
The waters surrounding the island are perfect for diving excursions. Gorgeous tropical fish, vibrant reefs, and unusual acquatic creatures are just a few of the sites waiting under the surface. Different groups specializing in Polynesian dance and ceremony perform several shows and hosts events all through the year.

A continental breakfast of scrambled eggs, sweet breads, freshly-squeezed juices, and hot coffee is prepared each morning in the dining area. The communal kitchen is equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, gas stove-top, blender, kettle, and cooking utensils. Should guests wish to prepare their own meals, they can combine their airport pick-up with a trip to the local market.
