Amazon Tupana Jungle Lodge
On the shores of the Tupana River in the midst of a biological reserve the Amazon Tupana Jungle Lodge offers comfortable accommodations in rustic wooden buildings on stilts. The buildings are roofed with palm thatch, connected by boardwalks and feature handsome wooden interiors and floors. All 12 guest rooms come with fans and private bathrooms, while the "superior" rooms overlook the river and contain chairs and a veranda. The private bungalows are appointed with mini bars in addition to the above and afford forest views.
When not out exploring the rainforest on one of the lodge's complimentary excursions led by multilingual guides (who speak Portuguese, Spanish and English), guests can relax in the hammocks strung on the verandas or enjoy a cool drink in the lounge. A diesel generator provides 110-volt electricity to the lodge from noon to 3 pm and 6 pm to 8 am. Most of the lodge's provisions are harvested from its own plantation or locally sourced and satellite telephone service is available in case of emergency. Transportation to and from the lodge is included in the price of lodging and guests are limited to 22 lbs of luggage each. Excess baggage can be stored at the lodge's Manaus office free of charge.
The lodge is located 110 miles south of Manaus along the Tupana River in the midst of a biological reserve. The area is rich in wildlife and is home to a variety of water birds, mammals and reptiles. During certain times of the year sport fishing can be enjoyed here.
Food & Beverage
The room rates include breakfast, lunch and dinner at the lodge's restaurant, which serves local and international cuisine. All meals are served buffet-style and drinks (including water) must be purchased separately. Bar service is available.
