Named in honor of Pachamama—Mother Earth as she is known and revered all across the Andes—the Pachama Hostería is a cozy hotel inspired by indigenous art and architecture. Its adobe walls, stone patio, wooden beams, clay pots and thatched roof are an organic extension of the hotel's natural environment. The guest rooms are simple yet charming, with traditional textiles for bedspreads and paintings of native symbols on the walls. Excursions in all-terrain vehicles and other services are offered.
The hotel is located in the town of Yaví in the province of Jujuy, 10 miles east of the town of La Quiaca on the Bolivian border and 183 miles north of the provincial capital San Salvador de Jujuy. Nearby tourist attractions include a church with a gold leaf altar, the house of the Marquis of Tojo, the petroglyphs of Cerro Colorado and farms where offerings are made to Pachamama.
