Hotel Description
Once one of Mendoza's first hotels, the grand old building which now houses the Malbec Hostel has been renovated and modernized while preserving its charming high ceilings and wood floors. The attentive and reliable staff lend it a cozy and familiar ambiance and the ample common areas are great places to hang out and meet other travelers. There are 22 clean and well-heated guest rooms in all, in addition to a large TV lounge with DirecTV and DVD player, a small lounge area, a fully-equipped kitchen, a dining area, and a sunny terrace with wading pools and barbecue. Free amenities available to guests include Wi-Fi, computers with Internet access, board games and a book exchange library.
Area
The hostel is located in the heart of Mendoza along San Martín Ave. It is three blocks from the pedestrian street of Sarmiento, ten blocks from the bus station and 20 minutes from the airport. Supermarkets, banks, internet cafes, shops and bars are within walking distance.
Food & Beverage
A complimentary breakfast is served each morning and includes tea, coffee, milk, juice, cereals, croissants, jelly and sweets. Guests can enjoy drinks and snacks at the bar and are welcome to use the fully-equipped kitchen and large outdoor barbecue for preparing their own meals.
How To Get There
To get to the hostel from Mendoza's Plaza San Martín, head east along Necochea St. for one block and take a left onto San Martín Ave. Less than a block later you'll arrive at the hostel on your left.
