La Menesunda Hostel
The La Menesunda Hostel offers travelers an authentic Argentinean experience in the comfort of a tastefully remodeled 19th-century building full of bold colors and friendly camaraderie. Situated along a busy avenue in the heart of bohemian Boedo, it is a surprisingly quiet place with spacious private rooms and dorms with either private or shared bathrooms. The common areas include a TV lounge with cable channels and a DVD player, terraces, a large kitchen and sunny upstairs patio with potted plants and a barbecue. Guests also have the benefit of Wi-Fi, individual lockers, laundry service, currency exchange service, bike rentals, tours and transfers. Special facilities for disabled guests are available.
The hostel is located along the main avenue of the vibrant bohemian Boedo district of Buenos Aires three blocks from the Boedo subway station. The city center and San Telmo can be reached in 15 minutes via the subway and there is quick bus service to Palermo and La Boca. The hostel lies a half hour from the airports, the Buquebús ferry terminal and the Retiro bus terminal and there are great restaurants, bars, theaters, tango shows and banks in the vicinity.
Food & Beverage
A complimentary breakfast is served each morning from 8:30 to 11 am and consists of bread, jam, crackers and a choice of tea, yerba mate tea, coffee or milk. Guests may also use the hostel's shared kitchen facilities.
How To Get There
To get to the hostel from the Boedo subway station walk about three blocks north along Boedo Ave. until you see the hostel on your right.
The bus lines that pass by the hostel are the following: 2, 7, 23, 41, 56, 75, 84, 86, 88, 96, 115, 128 and 160.
To get to the hostel from the Ezeiza International Airport by bus, take line 8 or 86 from inside the airport and get off at the intersection of H. Yrigoyen Ave. and Boedo Ave. Walk six blocks along Boedo Ave. to the seventh block.
To get to the hostel from the Jorge Newbery Airport by bus, take line 160 from the entrance to the airport to the entrance of the hostel (near the intersection of Boedo Ave. and Independencia Ave.).
To get to the hostel from the Retiro bus and train station by bus, take line 7, 23, 53, 75 or 115, among others. To get there via the subway take line C to Independencia station then change to line E towards the Plaza de los Virreyes station. Get off at the Boedo station and walk three blocks north along Boedo Ave. to the hostel.
